(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
Transfers a data file from the selected data recorder to a Raw File.
The RAW file contains the original data and may be used to create a Field File via the Field Transfer/Resolve/Create Field File command.
The Field File may then be edited using the Field Transfer/Resolve/Edit Field File command to correct any recording errors.
Finally, the data may be reduced and transferred as objects to the data base using the Field Transfer/Resolve/Reduce Field File command
Data Recorder Input dialog box

Save in: | Select the folder in which the RAW file will be created. |
File name: | Key in the name of the RAW file to be created or to display a database name selected from the list of displayed RAW files that is to be overwritten. |
Save as type: | Select the type of files to be displayed in the file list. |
Devices: | Display a list of the currently installed data recording devices. Select the device from which the data is to be transferred by clicking it with the mouse. The selected device is highlighted. If the required device is not in the list, first install it via the Install button. |
Communications Settings | Display the communications settings which have been set for the selected
device. If these settings are not the same as those on the device, alter the settings via the Configure button. |
OK | Put the system in a ready state to receive the data from the data
recorder. A different dialog box is displayed. You should ensure that the data recorder is connected to the correct port and then initiate the transfer of the data using the appropriate process on the data recorder. The Blocks received and the file size will be displayed during the transfer process. The transfer may be terminated at any time with the Cancel button. If the Port communications setting for the data recorder is FILE, then the Select Input File dialog box is displayed, which allows the user to browse to a file location to select data for input. Selection of files on a Windows Mobile device is not supported. Copy the file to a supported file storage and browse to that storage location to select data for input. |
Cancel | Close the dialog box without transferring the data. |
Install... | Display the Install Data Recorder
Device dialog box. Select this button to add or remove devices from the Installed Device list. |
Configure... | Display the appropriate
Comms Settings dialog
box for the currently selected device. Select this button to change the comms settings for the selected device. |
Protect | Save the RAW file with a Read Only attribute. |
