The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the TDS software is set up as follows.

Transferring data from the TDS software
Ensure that you have carried out the appropriate steps in the procedure for Processing a Field Survey up to the step for initiating the transfer of the data. Then carry out the following steps in the TDS software.
- From the TDS main (G to S) menu, select S to display the File Transfer Screen.
- Use the arrow keys to set the File type, IR/wire, Baud rate and Parity to the settings shown above.
- Press the SEND function key to initiate the data transfer.
Transferring co-ordinate data to the TDS software
Use the Output/Data Recorder command to put the system in a ready state to send co-ordinates to the TDS.
A dialog box should be displayed asking if the data recorder is ready to receive data. Then carry out the following steps.
- In the TDS software;
- From the TDS main (G to S) menu, select S to display the File Transfer Screen.
- Use the arrow keys to set the File type to CRD. Set IR/wire, Baud rate and Parity to the settings shown above.
- In the system;
Select the OK button in the dialog box. - In the TDS software;
Press the RECV function key to initiate the data transfer.
