The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the Topcon FC-6 data recorder is set up as follows.

NOTES: The cable connecting the serial port of the computer to the FC6 must be the cable supplied with the FC-6 for that purpose. It must be connected to the port on the FC-6 at the top left of the unit when viewing the screen.
When downloading from the FC-6, select the XFER/SEND/RAW option on the FC-6.
When uploading to the FC-6, select the XFER/RECEIVE/XYZ option on the FC-6.
