User Executable Field Data Transfer

(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)

The system allows the use of third party developed executables for transferring data to or from the system, and for creating a Field file in the Field transfer task.

The following Field Transfer commands can be supported by user executables.

To install a User Executable, select "User Executable" from the device list in the Install Data Recorder Device dialog box, and press the Add button. This will display the Install User Executable Device dialog box documented below.

Item Used to
Device name: Enter the name to be given to the device in the installed device list.
Executable File name: Enter the path and name of the user executable to be installed. It is recommended that you keep any user executables in the same folder.
Support
Iconised Select whether the user executable is to run in an iconised state.
Input Select whether the user executable supports the Input/Data Recorder command. If it does not, then it will not be available for selection as an input device.
Output Select whether the user executable supports the Output/Data Recorder command. If it does not, then it will not be available for selection as an output device.
Reformat Select whether the user executable supports the Resolve/Create Field File command. If it does not, then a field file cannot be created from a RAW file downloaded by the device.
Connect Select whether the user executable controls the Communications Settings. If this check box is selected, then the Comms Settings dialog box is not used with the particular device.
To File Select whether the user executable supports output to a file.
OK Close the dialog box and add the device to the installed device list.
Cancel Close the dialog box without adding the device to the installed device list.
