The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the Geodimeter System 500 RPU is set up as follows.
Use Func 78 to set the following.
COM=1.8.0.9600
Use Func 79 to set the following.
End=62
Note:
Before transferring the data, ensure that the RPU is in "Local Mode" display mode.
Transferring data from the Geodimeter System 500 RPU
Ensure that you have carried out the appropriate steps in the procedure for Processing a Field Survey up to the step for initiating the transfer of the data.
You should then have a dialog box on the screen prompting you to "Select the file to be downloaded"
The files available in the Geodimeter System 500 RPU are displayed in the combo box below the above message. Select the required file and press the OK button to initiate the transfer.
Transferring co-ordinate data to the Geodimeter System 500 RPU
Use the Output/Data Recorder command to put the system in a ready state to send co-ordinates to the Geodimeter System 500 RPU.
A dialog box should be displayed asking if the data recorder is ready to receive data.
Then select the OK button in the dialog box to commence the data transfer. The area file created in the Geodimeter System 500 RPU with the transferred data will have the same name as the data base from which the co-ordinates were transferred.
