(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
When using the Field Transfer/Input/Data Recorder or the Field Transfer/Output/Data Recorder commands with Carlson SurvCE, ensure that the selection for the Comms Settings are the same on the device and the computer.

Note that GPS grid coordinates (--GS records in the RW5 file) are treated as observed coordinates and beome record type 116 when the LISCAD Field File is generated.
The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the
communications within Carlson SurvCE are set as follows.
Transferring data from Carlson SurvCE.
- From the main screen of the Carlson SurvCE software, select 'File' tab.
- Then select '6< Data Transfer'
- From the Data Transfer Dialog set the appropriate COM Port: then select 'Kermit Transfer'
- On the 'Data Transfer' dialog set the Baud Rate and Parity to match those set in LISCAD.
- Baud Rate: 9600 (default)
- Parity: None (default)
- Press 'Send File'
- Navigate to the directory where your Carlson SurvCE data files are stored.
- From the displayed list of files, select the RW5 file you wish to transfer to LISCAD
- Press the 'Tick' to start transfer.
Communications should establish and the data will be transferred.
Transferring coordinate data to Carlson SurvCE.
Use the Output/Data Recorder command to put the system in a ready state to send coordinates to the Carlson SurvCE.
A dialog box should be displayed asking if the data recorder is ready to receive data. Then carry out the following steps on the Carlson SurvCE.
- From the main screen of the Carlson SurvCE software, select 'File' tab.
- Then select '6 Data Transfer'
- From the Data Transfer Dialog set the appropriate COM Port: then select 'Kermit Transfer'
- On the 'Data Transfer' dialog set the Baud Rate and Parity to match
those set in LISCAD.
- Baud Rate: 9600 (default)
- Parity: None (default)
- Press 'Receive File'
- In LISCAD, Press OK to send the data.
Communications should establish and the data will be transferred.
