Transferring data from the Husky Hunter
Ensure that you have carried out the appropriate steps in the procedure for Processing a Field Survey up to the step for initiating the transfer of the data. Then carry out the following steps on the Husky Hunter.
- From the Optimal main menu, select "Input / Output".
- Select the "Printouts" menu item.
- Select "Detail Data" from the scrollable menu.
- Select "Raw Observations".
- Select "Output Device:" as Computer.
- Press the Enter key to start the data transfer.
Husky control files and detail files
Both the Optimal Husky Hunter co-ordinate control file and the detail file can be downloaded and reformatted into a field file.
If processing both the co-ordinate control file and the detail files of the same job, the following process should be performed.
- Download both files.
- Create a field file for each of the raw files.
- Reduce the field file created from the Husky control file
- Reduce the field file created from the Husky detail file.
To enable the system to interpret the Husky files correctly, all data fields on a line MUST be separated by at least one blank and the following keyword strings of text ("show below in quotes") MUST be present in the appropriate files and appear exactly in the format and position stated.
For both the Husky control file and the detail file
"Block" (at the end of the header information)
Co-ordinate control file
"SlopeDst" MUST NOT appear anywhere in this file
"Point" (in the line preceding the co-ordinate list
"---End" (at the end of the co-ordinate list)
Detail File
"SlopeDst"
For a station setup
"STN:" (in the station block)
"InstHt.:" (in the station block)
"RO name" (in the line preceding the Reference Object readings)
"Pt#" (in the line prior to a list of slope observations)
