The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the communications within Survey Pro on the TDS ranger are set up as follows.

Transferring data from Survey Pro on the TDS Ranger.
- From the main menu select 'Transfer'
- From the sub-menu select 'Send File'
- On the Transfer dialog displayed,
Select Connecting To: HP48
In the Communications Settings Set
- the communications Port (Usually Com 1)
- the baud rate (9600 recommended)
- the Parity (None)
- Press OK
- From the dropdown list, select 'Co-ordinate Files .CR5'
- From the displayed list of CR5 files, select the file you wish to upload to LISCAD.
- Ensure that you have carried out the appropriate steps in the procedure for Processing a Field Survey up to the step for initiating the transfer of the data.
- Press OK to transfer the selected file.
Transferring co-ordinate data to Survey Pro on the TDS Ranger.
Use the Output/Data Recorder command to put the system in a ready state to send co-ordinates to Survey Pro on the TDS Ranger.
A dialog box should be displayed asking if the data recorder is ready to receive data. Then carry out the following steps in Survey Pro on the TDS Ranger.
- From the main menu select 'Transfer'
- From the sub-menu select 'Receive File'
- On the Transfer dialog displayed,
Select Connecting To: HP48
In the Communications Settings Set
- the communications Port (Usually Com 1)
- the baud rate (9600 recommended)
- c: the Parity (None)
- Press OK. A prompt on the TDS Ranger will indicate it is not waiting to receive the data.
- In LISCAD, Press OK to send the data.
