(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
LISCAD supports the following measurement blocks:
Word Index | Function |
11 | Point ID |
83 | Bench Mark Height |
331 | Back Sight Reading |
332 | Foresight Reading |
333 | Intermediate Reading |
52 | Number of Observations |
The only recording method supported is BF (Backsight - Foresight) with Word Index 83 included in the measurement mask for all foresights and intermediate sights.
NA Series Instruments (NA 2002 and NA 3003)
This range of instruments use the GRM10 (Rec Module) to store the data.
Transfer of data between a Digital Level and the system is via the Wild REC Module & GIF10 or Wild REC Module & GIF12 interface.
DNA Series Instruments (DNA 03 and DNA 10)
This range of instruments uses PCMCIA cards to store the data.
There are two methods of transferring data between the DNA series and the system.
- Method 1- via a PCMCIA drive
You must have a PCMCIA drive installed in or connected to your computer, and the appropriate device drivers already loaded. Refer to your PCMCIA drive manual for details of these drivers.
When using the Field Transfer/Input/Data Recorder or the Field Transfer/Output/Data Recorder commands with a DNA series device selected, ensure that the selection for the Comms Settings Port is correct for your PCMCIA drive.
The Input and output operations transfer the data from or to the PCMCIA card in that drive. - Method 2- via a serial port direct from DNA series
You must have the instrument connected to the computer via the RS232 serial port.
When using the Field Transfer/Input/Data Recorder or the Field Transfer/Output/Data Recorder commands with a DNA series device selected, ensure that the selection for the Comms Settings are the same on the instrument and the computer.
The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the DNA series instruments are as follows.
COMS | SETTING |
Port | COM1 |
Baud rate | 19200 |
Word length | 8 |
Parity | None |
Stop bit | 1 |
Input Protocol | GSI |
Output Protocol | GSI |
EOL | 10 |
EOF | 26 |
To set the communications on the DNA.
Use the DNA series 'All Settings/Communications' menu to set the Baud rate, Parity, Data Bits and Stop Bits.
Please Note: Data can not be uploaded directly to a DNA series instrument. It can only be loaded onto the PCMCIA card directly.
Transferring data from the DNA Series Instrument
Ensure that you have carried out the appropriate steps in the procedure for Processing a Field Survey up to the step for initiating the transfer of the data. Then, to initiate the transfer, carry out the following on the DNA Instrument
Select DATA
In the data menu,
- Select RS232 Serial Interface (By default it is set to Card)
- Select the job to download
- Select Export
