Psion Data Recorders

(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)

Users should not attempt to download the data from the Psion using King's Software. This does not work because the King software uses its own internal commands both on the PC and the Psion to accomplish the transfer.

The Psion has its own file transfer function which enables ANY files to be transferred to and from the Psion. This uses a standard transfer protocol and this is what LISCAD uses. LISCAD is therefore not dependent on the software used on the Psion. (LISCAD supports two other software packages on the Psion, Phmlink and LeicaPak).

The commands on the Psion to perform the transfer are:

1. At the Psion's main menu (not in King's software) Select COMMS - press execute.
2. On the next menu select Transmit - press execute.
3. On the next menu select FILE - press execute.
4. Ensure LISCAD is ready and waiting to receive the data.
5. The prompt will now be 'SEND C:' . Key in the file name and press execute. - the data will now be transferred.

Please Note: Using the transfer on the Psion, you can also use standard PC applications (Hyperterminal) to also transfer the data to your PC.
