(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
The default communications settings are designed to work effectively if the LISDAT data recorder is set up as follows.
DISPLAY | SETTING |
I/O PORT | 1 (if cable connected to right hand port on the MC) |
2(if cable connected to left hand port on the MC) | |
BAUD RATE | 9600 |
PARITY | NONE |
DATA/STOP BITS | 8 DATA |
1 STOP | |
PROTOC | ETX/ACK |
The cable connecting the serial port of the computer to the MC must be the standard CMT COMKIT cable.
Note that if the LISDAT fieldnote is used for the feature codes, ensure that the "Treat Code as Numeric" option in the Settings/Code Definition command is not crossed. This will ensure that the fieldnote is used as the feature code when the field file is created and reduced.
If you are using the LISDAT fieldnote as the feature code, a point description can still be entered in the field by following the feature code with an * and then the description. For example, if the Code setting is CCCSS, then the following fieldnote in LISDAT:
TOP22*CONCRETE
will be interpreted as:
Feature Code: TOP
String Number22
Description: CONCRETE
