Techniques |
Create straight lines using the following techniques.
Create circular arcs using the following techniques.
Create splines using the following techniques.
Create Transition Curves using the following techniques.
|
Controls |
The controls available is dependent upon the technique used.
Control |
Description |
OK |
Compute the vertex location for the current line segment. |
End |
Ends the current line and stores it in the project. |
Close |
Create a line segment back to the first vertex in the line. You can continue to add segments to the line. |
Back |
Remove the last vertex from the current line. |
Solve |
Click to compute the line from items in the list. |
Abort |
Cancel the creation of the line. |
Click one of the above buttons with a tentative selection in the model view, to accept the selection and perform the action.
|
Notes |
- Lines are created on the active layer unless otherwise specified.
- The Appearance Attributes of the lines are set by the layer however you can click the Attributes tab to override the appearance.
- Click the Attributes tab to view or edit automatically created attributes.
- Click the Components tab prior to clicking OK to view the components of a circular arc.
- To create single lines for each segment in the current line sequence, select the Automatically Segment Lines checkbox in the Create settings in Options tool window.
- When creating circular arcs, the 3D circular arc checkbox determines if values picked from objects in the model are 3 dimensional or 2 dimensional.
- Clicking OK for the methods 2 Tangents and Distance, Centre and Radius and Linear Offset ends the line currently in construction and creates a new single segment line or alignment.
