Description |

Insertion Mode - A vertex will be created when you click in the model view. |
 |
Edit Mode - An editable control will inherit its value from the vertex you click in the model view. |
|
Not Allowed - The current task cannot be performed in the model view. |
|
Notes |
- To insert the vertex, ensure you are in insertion mode, then click in the model view at the location where the vertex is to be placed.
- To insert a vertex in 3D view, create a clip plane.
- Click End to create the line, alignment or polygon.
- If you have typed a value in the Height box, ensure you return to insertion mode to insert the vertex.
-
To return to insertion mode:
- Click in a control that does not allow input from the model view, for example the Name box.
- Pick a vertex in the model view to fill the control with a value.
- Press the Tab key or Shift+Tab key to remove focus from a control in edit mode.
- Click
to discontinue inserting and return to the select mode.
- When Terrain Model is selected as the height method, if a height can not be determined from the terrain model the default height is assigned to the inserted vertex.
- When Height is selected as the height method, and you are in insert mode, tentative click a vertex to use the vertices location and the keyed in height. If a value for the height has not been input, the tentative selected vertices height will also be used.
- When creating alignments, in the Create Options, configure the Alignment Velocity and the Horizontal Standard to automatically create curves and combined curves at intersection points that comply with the design parameters.
