Data can be imported in the following formats.

| File name |
Enter the name of the file to be imported. |
| Options |
Set options to control the import. |
| Open |
Start the data import process. |
| Cancel |
Close the dialog without importing any data. |

| Notes |
- The Data Import list can be customised via the Import Add / Remove command.
- An Import Report view tab is displayed if there are any warnings or errors.
- Print the report using the Print Preview application available from the Quick Access Toolbar.
- If the file format imported does not explicitly define layers then the data is imported to the active layer.
- Ensure attributes to be imported are included in the attribute definition for the layer.
- An imported measurement to a point with the same name as a point that already exists in the project, is attached to the vertex of the point in the project.
- Lines and polygons imported that don't explicitly define their breakline status are set according to the Layer Breakline property.
