Edit an Area Text Style (General)

Description

Edit the general settings for an area text style.
Access

Manage / Configuration / Text / Styles / Area / Insert a new item or Edit selected item / General
Controls
Control Description
Name Type the name for the style.
Description Type the description for the style.
Unit Select the area unit for the style.
Area Type Select the distance type to use when computing the area:
  • Grid - Distances are grid distances.
  • Ellipsoidal - Distances are ellipsoidal distances.
  • Ground - Distances are ground distances.
  • Local Plane - Distances are local plane distances.
Format Specify the parameters to insert in the text object using the following notation:
  • Type ❴0❵ to insert the computed area. (Required)
  • Type ❴1❵ to insert the area units. (Optional)
Note:
  • Text parameters are inserted in the order specified.
  • Units displayed in the text object are the units defined for the text style. These units can be different to the project units.
  • You can insert additional text to be displayed with the linked text objects.
  • Multi-line text is supported.
Display signed values
  • Select the checkbox to include the positive sign with the created text.
Notes
  • Area text styles are used to create linked text objects that display the area of a polygon.
