Segment based |
Do one of the following:
- Select the checkbox to create text for every segment of a line or polygon.
- Clear the box to create text once for the polyline or polygon.
Note:
- Different properties and attributes are available depending on this configuration.
- Available when Type is configured to Line or Polygon.

Add |
Click to include the selected object or project attributes in the format. |
Format |
Insert attributes or properties to be included in the text style and type any additional text.
Note:
- Enclose attributes and object properties in ❴ ❵.

Press and hold the Ctrl key, then click the desired attributes or properties to select multiple items in the list.

Source |
The origin of the attribute:
- Object - The attribute is defined for a layer or is a property of the object.
- Project - The attribute is defined for the project.
- Input - The value is input when text is created.

Format |
Click to define the format for the attribute or property.
Note:
- The formatting required depends on the property or attribute Type.

Notes |
- Only properties and attributes valid for the selected Type display in the list.
- Group attributes display in the list as GroupName.AttributeName.
- Successful validation of the Format is required, prior to moving to another tab.
- You must include at least one property or attribute in the Format box.
- Combined text styles are used to create a linked text object that display the current values of the attributes or properties.
- Only the components of the combined text style that are applicable for the Type are included with the created linked text object.
- Editing a combined text style which is used by text on a locked layer may change the appearance of the text.
- You can use tabs in the Format to align text on multiple lines. A tab is 8 characters long.
