OK Create the text.
Notes
  • Text objects are created on the active layer.
  • The layer text settings are used if a text style is not selected.
  • Selected text is drawn last.
  • Unselected text without a background is drawn prior to unselected text with a background.
  • You can link text to objects in the project file.
  • If you export text with character spacing to a DWG file, you can view the text spacing in the AutoCAD 2dWireframe view.
  • Text is created in the x-y plane only. If you display and examine objects using a User Coordinate System, text can only be created if the User Coordinate is two dimensional.
  • The value displayed for linked text is always in the Project Coordinate System, regardless of if a User Coordinate system has been configured.
Possible errors
Error Description Solution
!!!ERROR!!! Displayed in place of the text value to indicate the associated text style is not valid. Text is linked to the objects segment number at the time of creation. If you insert or delete a segment into an object, the segment that the text was originally linked to may inherit a different segment number, disconnecting the text from the original segment. This may result in the text style assigned to the text being invalid for segment it is linked to. In the Attributes tool, edit the text style assigned to the text so it is valid for the objects segment type and the current coordinate system. To avoid this, error you should add text after edits to objects have been completed.
