Create contour text using one of the following methods:
- Contour text is created for the selected contour lines.
- Press and hold Alt then select
All 
/ Major Contour Lines or All / Minor Contour Lines to select contours on the active layers. - Create text so that it is readable either in the uphill direction or the south/east direction using the Uphill text orientation setting in the text styles position settings.
- Contour text is rotated based on the direction of the line.
- Text is inserted at the height of the contour.
- You can use the text styles display settings to create text with a background colour the same as the project background. This gives the give the effect of the line being clipped to the text without altering the length of the line.
