Nearly all commands in LISCAD can be used as tools that can be placed in toolbars. Any number of toolbars can be established. Once a command is added to a toolbar, it is available to be run from the appropriate views. This gives you immediate access to the commands you need at a particular time, without having to navigate to a menu item.
Toolbars can be placed wherever you desire, and their shape is also user controlled. They can be docked to the top, bottom, left or right side of the graphics window; or they can be floating and moved to any screen position in the graphics window.
Toolbars can be set up to be always available in particular types of views (plan, long section, cross section), but generic toolbars can also be set up to be available in all views. In this manner, you can tailor the toolbars to ensure the required tool is always available in the appropriate view, and does not appear for inappropriate views.
If a tool is placed on a toolbar, and that toolbar is available in a view for which the tool has no purpose, then the tool will be greyed and not useable in that view.
Refer to the following topics to learn how to configure the toolbar to best suit your needs.
- Configure/Toolbar
- Positioning the Toolbar
- Resize the Toolbar
- Selecting a button to add to the Toolbar
- Moving a button on the Toolbar
- Removing a button from the Toolbar
- Deleting a Toolbar
The tools documented in the following topics are the Block tool, the Viewing tools, and the Calculator tool. These tools are commonly used in conjunction with other commands. The Viewing tools are used to modify the view of the data base so that graphic elements can be clearly seen and identified.
In a 3D window, there are further viewing tools available including cameras.
For documentation on using any other tool, refer to the relevant Help topic for the corresponding command.
