PanPan

Pans the data base across the viewing area.

The Pan tool displayed above is used to move the view of the data base within the viewing area.

To use the Pan tool, select the tool by clicking it with the accept mouse button. Then move the cursor into the viewing area and press the accept mouse button at the departure position of interest. Hold down the accept button and drag the cursor to the required destination position of interest.

On releasing the accept mouse button, the data base will then be redrawn in a moved position with the selected departure position now located at the destination position. That is, the view of the data base has been moved in the direction and distance of the drag line.

Control will stay in the Pan tool allowing you to progressively pan further around the data base.

Clicking the snap mouse button will exit the Pan tool and return operation to the previously selected command. The Pan tool may also be exited by selecting any other tool or command.

In the 3D View, this tool is the same as the Pan Camera tool
