Edit a Chainage Text Style (General)

Description

Edit the general settings for a chainage text style.

Access

Manage / Configuration / Text / Styles / Chainage / Insert a new style or Edit a style / General

Controls
Control Description
Name Type the name for the style.
Description Type the description for the style.
Unit Select the linear unit for the style.
Distance Type Select the distance type to display:
  • Grid - Chainages are grid distances.
  • Ellipsoidal - Chainages are ellipsoidal distances.
  • Ground - Chainages are ground distances.
  • Local Plane - Chainages are local plane distances.
Chainage Format Select the chainage format:
  • Chainage - The distance along the alignment.
  • Station - The distance along the alignment in the form 1+00, where 1 represents 100 units.
Format Specify the parameters to insert in the text object using the following notation:
  • Type ❴0❵ to insert the computed chainage. (Required)
  • Type ❴1❵ to insert the linear units. (Optional)
  • Type ❴2❵ to insert the segment type label. (Optional)
Note:
  • Text parameters are inserted in the order specified.
  • Units displayed in the text object are the units defined for the text style. These units can be different to the project units.
  • You can insert additional text to be displayed with the linked text objects.
  • Multi-line text is supported.
Notes
  • Chainage text styles are used to create linked text objects that display the chainage of an alignment or line.
  • Chainages are always two dimensional.
