Description |
Name |
Type a unique name for the new user coordinate system. |
Origin Vertex |
Enter the vertex to be used as the origin of the reference frame. |
X-Axis Vertex |
Enter the vertex that in conjunction with the Origin Vertex will define the X-Axis of the reference frame. |
XY Plane Vertex |
Enter the vertex that in conjunction with the Origin Vertex and the X-Axis Vertex will define the X-Y Plane. |
2D only |
Do one of the following:
-
Select the checkbox, to define a reference plane in 2 dimensions, where the normal is in the z direction.
Note:
- Only the X and Y coordinates of the Origin Vertex are considered.
- A vertex in the XY Plane is not required.
- Clear the checkbox to define a 3 dimensional reference plane.

|
Notes |
- If you select a user coordinate system for the project, Unit options; Coordinate Type, Direction Type and Distance Type will be automatically set to 'Grid', 'Plane' and 'Grid' respectively.
- If you select a 2 dimensional vertex the default height will be used to define the user coordinate system.
- The user coordinate system is applied when creating, editing or examining objects.
- Cartesian coordinates are displayed in the X-Y-Z reference frame.
- Plane bearings and grid distances will be computed in the X-Y plane.
- Select a user coordinate system to orientate your data for printing.
- Data is exported in the project coordinate system.
