A

Text Alignment

Text Alignment defines the position of the Text hot point and the position of the Text with respect to the object to which it refers.

Attribute Types

A user defined type that can be attached to an entity in the project.

C

Circular Arc (2 Dimensional)

A curve that follows along a 2D arc path and in Plan view displays as a circular arc. The components of the circular arc are 2 dimensional (computed in the X-Y plane). The lines vertices may contain heights however altering the heights will not impact the appearance of the line in Plan view nor will it alter the arc dimensions.

Circular Arc (3 Dimensional)

A circular arc in 3D space.

Coordinate Class

A class given to a point to indicate the quality or origin of the position:

Cut

Height, area or volume required to be removed to achieve the desired design.

D

Default Height

A project configured height value that is assigned to a vertex when the height is unknown.

Default Symbol

A cross shaped symbol of a fixed size that can optionally be displayed in the model view for points without a symbol.

Drawing

Create and edit using the CAD module, it includes a drawing sheet, CAD objects and viewports.

Drawing Number

A unique number given to a CAD drawing.

Drawing Sheet

The 'white space' in a drawing that indicates the paper size and helps you interpret which objects in the drawing will be printed.

Drawing View

A view that displays a drawing in paper space.

DXF

An Autodesk defined text based file format commonly used for exchanging CAD related data.

E

ECEF

Earth-Centred, Earth-Fixed (ECEF) is a geographic coordinate system and Cartesian coordinate system.

Entities

Geometry objects in a project that represent real-world objects.

F

Face

A triangular object that is part of a terrain model.

Fill

Height, area or volume required to be added to achieve the desired design.

G

Ground Units

The size of text, tables, line widths, images and plan symbols may be input in ground or plan units. Select ground units to input a dimension in real world size.
Use ground units when creating objects in the model view or displaying objects in a viewport.

H

HeXML

A Leica Geosystem defined XML format file which is an extension to the LandXML format.

L

Local Rotation

A rotation that is applied to the entered bearing when creating new objects if Home / Tools / Options / Direction Type is set to LocalPlane. Typically, it is the local rotation required to convert bearings on an historical plan to the current coordinate system being used in the project.

Local Scale Factor

A scale factor that is applied to the entered distance when creating new objects if Home / Tools / Options / Distance Type is set to LocalPlane. Typically, it is the local scale factor required to convert distances on an historical plan to the current coordinate system being used in the project.

O

Objects

Geometry in a project that represents real-world objects.

Orb

The circular icon in the top left corner of the application main window.

P

Plan Unit Scale

Configured in Display Options for a model view and the viewport properties for a viewport, the plan unit scale is used to convert between plan units and ground units.

Plan Units

The size of text, tables, line widths, images and plan symbols may be input in ground or plan units. Select plan units to input the objects dimensions in millimetres or inches (depending on the current linear units configured for the project).
In the model view values are converted to ground units using the Plan Unit Scale configured in Display Options.
In a drawing, values defined in plan units are drawn at the specified size.
In a viewport, values are converted to ground units using the Plan Unit Scale configured for the viewport.

Point

A graphical object in a project that represents a real-world object and can include a symbol for cartographic purposes.

R

Regex

A sequence of characters that forms a search pattern.

S

Selected

Objects that have been selected using one of the Select tools and are highlighted using the configured highlight colour.

Sheet Set

A group of drawings that include the same type of information, and need to be grouped together within a plan set, or form their own plan set. They require their own set of sheet numbers in addition to a unique drawing number. For example Abstract of Field Records or cross sections.

Sheet Number

The number given to a drawing in a sheet set. This is in addition to a unique drawing number. You can have identical sheet numbers in a project providing the drawings are from different sheet sets.

T

Terrain Model

An object that consists of numerous triangular faces that combined represent the shape of a natural or design terrain.

V

Vertex

A 3D coordinate from which other objects are constructed. A vertex does not exist on is own but is a part of a higher level object like a Point or a line.

Viewport

A CAD object that can be inserted into a drawing that displays current data from the model view to a specified scale. Viewports have their own layer settings to control how model view objects are displayed in a viewport.

Visible

Objects that are displayed in the graphics screen but are necessarily visible in the current view. Objects that are on layers that are turned off are not visible.
