Keyboard Controls

Description

Allows the use of keyboard shortcuts for object editing, selection, viewing and construction.

Controls

Press the relevant key(s) or mouse buttons when a model view or drawing view is active. Some controls require a selection in the active view or are dependent on the control that currently has focus.

Ctrl Z	Undo
Ctrl Y	Redo
Delete	Delete
Ctrl C	Copy
Ctrl Shift C	Copy relative to an insertion point.
Ctrl X	Cut
Ctrl Shift X	Cut relative to an insertion point.
Ctrl V	Paste

Select Keyboard and Mouse Controls	Description
Alt, then click an object with the primary mouse button.	Tentative select an object when Tentative Pick is configured to Alt + Left Button
Ctrl A	Select All
Ctrl D	Select None
Esc	Select None when focus is on the one of the select tools.
Ctrl I	Invert the selection
Ctrl S	Save
Ctrl E	Close the polygon when using the Free Form selection tool.
Shift, then click an object with the primary mouse button or surround object using a fence select tool	Add to the current selection of objects
Ctrl, then click an object with the primary mouse button or surround object using a fence select tool	Reverse the selection of the selected object. An object that is selected is deselected. An object that is unselected is selected.
Shift + Ctrl, then click an object with the primary mouse button or select using a fence select tool	Remove the selected items from the current selection.

View Keyboard and Mouse Controls	Description
Left Arrow, or click and hold the mouse scroll wheel then drag to the right	Pan to the left
Shift Left Arrow, or Shift then click and hold the mouse scroll wheel and drag to the left	Rotate clockwise about the screen y axis in 3D view only
Right Arrow or click and hold the mouse scroll wheel then drag to the left	Pan to the right
Shift Right Arrow or Shift then click and hold the mouse scroll wheel and drag to the left	Rotate anticlockwise about the screen y axis in 3D view only
Up Arrow	Pan up
Shift Up Arrow	Rotate clockwise about the screen x axis in 3D view only
Down Arrow	Pan down
Shift Down Arrow	Rotate anticlockwise about the screen x axis in 3D view only
Home	Fit the view to the displayed objects
Shift Home	Fit the view to the selected objects
Page Up	Zoom In
Page Down	Zoom Out
W	Move camera into the view
S	Move camera away from the view
A	Move camera to the left
D	Move camera to the right
Ctrl F5	Reset the graphical view
F7	Toggle Point Name labels on and off in the model view.
F8	Toggle Point Layer labels on and off.
F9	Toggle vertex Height labels on and off.
Shift + Zoom In (3D View)	Zoom in past objects.

Construction Keyboard Controls	Description
Esc	Cancel any active construction of a line, alignment or polygon.
Ctrl E	End the construction of a line, alignment or polygon.
Enter	Activate the active button.
Ctrl R	Delete the last segment for an object under construction

Dialog and Tool Window Controls	Description
Tab	Move forwards between controls
Shift+Tab	Move backwards between controls
Space	Select or clear the checkboxes
Alt+Down Arrow	Display items in a drop-down list
Up or Down Arrow	Select items in drop-down list or Move between items in a property grid
Esc	Close the active dialog or revert to the previous value in a property grid if it has not already been accepted.
Enter	Perform the action or Accept a selection in a drop-down list or Accept a value in a property grid.

Other Keyboard Controls	Description
F6	Move focus between visible tools, the active ribbon tab and the active view tab
F12	Copy the current model view to the clipboard
Alt, then click the secondary mouse button	Display context menu when Tentative Pick is configured to Right Mouse Button

Notes

These keyboard controls are not case sensitive. For example, 'A' and 'a' are treated the same.
