Model view, drawing view and viewport, view controls used to specify what is displayed and how it is displayed.

Controls

The controls available are dependent on the active view.

Control Description
Fit View Click to fit the view to the extents of the displayed objects.
Click down arrow then select Selected to fit the view to the extents of the selected objects.
Pan Pan the view.
Rotate Rotate the view about the pivot position when in 3D mode.
Window Window in the view.
Zoom In Zoom in the view.
Zoom Out Zoom out the view.
Camera Mode Set the view camera mode.
First Person - The camera rotates left and right, up and down as if the user was standing in the view.
Third Person - The model rotates as if the camera was orbiting in space.
Lock Vertical Axis - When locked, horizontal movements of the mouse and the left/right arrow keys cause the model to rotate about the absolute vertical axis and up/down movements and arrow keys cause rotation about the current x axis of the view. When the vertical axis is not locked, all mouse movements and arrow keys cause rotation about the respective axis of the current view. This setting only applies to third person mode.
Set Pivot Position Set the position about which the view will rotate when in 3D mode.
Set Camera Position Set the position of the view camera when in 3D mode.
Model View Select the named view to display in the active model view.
Manage Views Click to manage the views saved for the model.
Save Active View In the Model View control, select <Unsaved> then click to save a new view. Alternatively, click to overwrite the view currently displayed in the Model View control.
View Orthometric Display in planimetric view.
View Perspective Display in a three dimensional perspective or orthographic projection view.
Notes
  • Keyboard shortcuts and the mouse can be used to activate or deactivate the view controls.
  • Display options and layer visibility, also controls what is displayed in the model view.
  • In a drawing view, if a viewport is edited, the view tools apply to objects displayed in a viewport, otherwise they apply to the entire drawing view.
  • You can use a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse® to fit, zoom, rotate and pan in 3D view.
  • Selecting a named view that is using a user coordinate system to display the data, will automatically apply the user coordinate system to all model views.
  • Layers created after a named view is saved will have the visibility turned off in the view.
