Alignment by Chainage TraverseAlignment by Chainage Traverse

Availability: Computations module.
Menu Selection: From the Computations task, select the Create/Alignment command and the Method/Chainage Traverse command.
Functionality: Creates a new alignment and associated points by entering bearings and running chainages from an existing point to the alignment vertices.
Controls:
Actions:
  • The OK Button creates the current point and associated alignment segment.
  • The End Button ends the creation of the current alignment and allows a new alignment to be started.
  • Next
Notes:
  • The From Point Identifier control is automatically updated to the last created point identifier after each point is created. After the first point is created, this has the effect of entering alignment segment distances. This point identifier may however be altered at any time.
  • The Elevation Drop Down will only be available if the elevation attribute is active.
  • If the elevation difference control is selected from the Elevation Drop Down, the elevation difference entered will be applied to each new point progressively.
  • If the grade control is selected from the Elevation Drop Down, the grade entered will be applied between each new point progressively.
  • The alignment to be created will be given the currently defined alignment attributes, any associated lines created be given the currently defined line attributes and any associated points created, the currently defined point attributes.
