Distance Controls

These controls allow the user to enter or select a distance, provide the ability to modify the data and enable information regarding the source of the data to be displayed.

Type Action Functions
Standard Data Entry
  • Keyboard entry of a valid distance.
  • Keyboard entry of a reference line (Two Point Id's).
  • Can snap/accept to an existing line.
  • Can snap/accept to point objects.
  • Can accept in space to obtain the co-ordinates of that position (those positions) on the screen. This functionality can be disabled or enabled via Configuration Options and the current status is indicated by the current cursor.
  Data Modification
  • SPACE, F9
  • Add
  • Subtract
  • Multiply
  • Divide
  • Units - Metres(M), Links(L), International Feet(F) and US Feet(U).
  Data Transfer
  Tooltip
  • Displays the Point Identifiers if the distance has been derived from existing points. These can be disabled or enabled via Edit Tool Tips.
Keyboard Only Data Entry
  • Keyboard entry of a valid distance.

  • Displays the derivation of the distance. This can be disabled or enabled via Edit Tool Tips.
