Elevation Difference Controls

These controls allow the user to enter or select an elevation difference, provide the ability to modify the data and enable information regarding the source of the data to be displayed.

Type Action Functions
Standard Data Entry
  • Blank (No elevation to be computed) entry field is permitted.
  • Keyboard entry of a valid elevation difference.(positive up, negative down)
  • Can snap/accept to an existing line segment that has elevations. The elevation difference of the line is in the sense, nearest point to furthest point snapped/accepted in the line segment selected.
  • Can snap/accept to two point objects that have elevations.
If either of the points accepted do not have an elevation, the control will be left blank.
  Data Modification
  • SPACE, F9
  • Add
  • Subtract
  • Multiple
  • Divide
  Data Transfer
  • Transfer of valid elevation difference from calculator. (Angular value if in Geographic mode).
  Tooltip
  • Displays the Point Identifiers if the elevation difference has been derived from existing points. These can be disabled or enabled via Edit Tool Tips.
