This dialog box is displayed after selecting a code table via the Tables/Code Table/New command or the Tables/Code Table/Open command.
The dialog box is used to view, or edit the feature code attributes of the particular code table created or opened.
When data is imported into the system, any object with a feature code defined in the selected code table will be imported with the point and line attributes as defined in that code table.
Further, the attribute settings stored in a code table may be easily retrieved via the feature code to quickly predetermine the attributes that are to be applied to new objects being created or existing objects being edited.
Refer to the Concepts/Tables topic for a more detailed description of the benefits and uses of code tables.

Item | Used to |
Table | Display the name of the code table which is currently being displayed or edited. |
Code | Select a feature code which already exists in the particular code table, or key in a new feature
code. The attributes set for the feature code may be displayed and edited by selecting the Point, Line and Polygon buttons. List | Select whether the feature code is to be displayed in the
appropriate feature code selection lists. For example, if you do not want a particular
feature code to be displayed in the selection lists, simply uncheck the appropriate "List" check box(s). |
Stringable | Select whether points imported with the currently set feature code are to be joined by lines. Note that if this check box is not active, the points may still be joined by lines if string identifiers are used in the field. Refer to Field Transfer/Settings/Code Definition. Certain field operation codes may also force lines to be created even if this check box is not active. Refer to Concepts/Coding. The lines created will be assigned the attributes set for the feature code via the Line Attributes dialog box which is accessed via the Line button. |
Create Polygon | Select whether strings generated from the reduction of a field file with the currently set feature code are to be used to create a polygon. The string will be closed back to its starting point and a polygon generated. The polygon created will be assigned the attributes set for the feature code via the Polygon Attributes dialog box which is accessed via the Polygon button. |
Point >> | Display the Code Table Point Attributes dialog box.
This dialog box displays the point attributes set for the currently selected feature code and allows the settings to be edited. |
Line >> | Display the Code Table Line Attributes dialog box. This dialog box displays the line attributes set for the currently selected feature code and allows the settings to be edited. |

Every code table has a feature code named DEFAULT which cannot be deleted. The DEFAULT feature code settings are applied to any data being imported to the system which does not have a feature code that is known to the selected code table. |
Close | Close the Code Table Editor dialog box. If changes have been made to the current feature code settings but not saved to the code table, the system will provide an opportunity to save the changes. |
