Create Point by Surface Intersection

(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)

Intersects two long sections along the same control line or alignment and inserts daylight points into the long sections at the intersections.

This function can be accessed from the long section view Profiles Task / Edit / Create Point / by Surface Intersection.

The point to be created will be given the attributes currently defined via the Edit/Set Point Attributes command.

Item	Used to
Long Section 1:	Select the first long section from the list which is to be used for the surface intersection. All long sections that are open in the current long section view are listed here. Alternatively snap to and accept the long section required.
Long Section 2:	Select the second long section from the list which is to be intersected with long section 1. All long sections that are open in the current long section view are listed here. Alternatively snap to and accept the long section required. Long section 2 must share the same horizontal control as long section 1.
Insert Points Into
Long Section 1:	Select this radio button to insert the intersection points into long section 1.
Long Section 2:	Select this radio button to insert the intersection points into long section 2.
Both Long Sections:	Select this radio button to insert the intersection points into both long sections 1 and 2.
OK:	Compute all intersection points between long section 1 and long section 2 and insert the resulting daylight points into the long sections as requested. An error message will be displayed if the two long sections do not share the same control line. The dialog box will close if the process was successful.
Cancel:	Close the dialog box without attempting to intersect long sections.

Note: To see drop lines at the intersection points select Display Features and turn on Daylight Points for the relevant long sections.
