(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
Allows the selection of various options to be set for the reduction of the field file.
The Reduction Options dialog is displayed by selecting the Options button on the Reduce Field File dialog.
Reduction Options dialog box
Item | Used to |
Update elevations | Set whether any existing points in the data base are to have their elevations
updated. If this check box is active, then the elevations of points computed during the reduction process will be used to overwrite the elevations of pre-existing points of the same identifier in the data base. The X and Y co-ordinates of such pre-existing points will remain unaltered. Note that the Update Elevations option is group sensitive. This feature is particularly useful for updating elevations in the data base without changing the planimetric position of the points. |
Add Duplicates | Set the option of adding points with the same identifier to the data
base. Note: If checked, all points with the same identifier will be accepted to the data base. If not checked, the first point will be added to the data base and subsequent duplicate points will be shown as co-ordinate differences from this point. This check box will only be active if the Unique Point Identifiers option is set in Utilities/Configure/Point Identifier dialog box. |
Use Code Table Stringing | Set this option to honour the stringing defined via the code table. This option can only be active if the Code Definition (set in the Settings/Code Definition command) does not contain a string identifier component. If this option is active and not selected, then the the stringing set via the code table will be ignored. If you have used Leica On-board Lines, you should ensure this option is not selected to avoid unwanted strings being generated via the code table. |
String All Codes | Set whether non consecutive points in the Field file with the same
feature codes are to be joined with string lines. This check box may only be made active if the code setting, set in the Settings/Code Definition command, does not contain a string identifier component. |
Mean all Verticals | Set whether all vertical circle observations observed as sets are
to be averaged for the reduction process. Only vertical circle observations of record type 160 in the selected field file can be used. This is the record type used for recording sets of observations in the field file. Refer to the Field File Structure topic. Note that sets can be automatically generated in the field file when it is created using the Create Field File command. But they can only be generated if the feature is supported in the field operation codes used in the RAW file. Refer to the Field Coding topic for information about the field operation codes available for the various instrument types. If the check box is checked, then all vertical circle readings observed as sets will be used whether observed with a distance or not. Leave the box checked if all vertical circle readings were taken to the same target heights for each particular point. If the check box is not checked, then only vertical circle readings observed as sets and taken with a distance observation will be used. Leave the check box unchecked as a quality control measure to ensure that vertical circle readings used were all taken to the prism. |
Multiple Orientation | Allow the option of computing a mean orientation at a setup from
consecutive observations to a number of fixed points. Only observations to fixed points taken immediately after a setup will be used to compute the mean value. The point identifier is used to determine if observations are to known points. All orientation observations must be on the same face. If the check box is not activated, then only a single orientation point is used. |
Apply Curvature & Refraction | Set whether earth curvature and refraction correction is to
be applied during the reduction process. The Earth radius and Refraction (K) value used to calculate the correction are set in the Utilities/Configure/Earth Constants command. |
Detailed Reduction Report | Obtain a detailed rather than brief version of the reduction report. |
Ignore Fixed Comparisons | Exclude reduction report comparisons between points already in the SEE project and fixed points in the field file (061 and 062 records). |
OK | Close the dialog box and save the current settings. |
Cancel | Close the dialog box without saving any changes. |
Elevations of observed points will only be computed and transferred to the data base if the relevant instrument set up point has an elevation.
This will also be the case even if the observation is a measured co-ordinate which includes an elevation value. The elevation will only be transferred to the data base if the set up point also has an elevation.
