Leica Onboard Coding

(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)

If you are using Leica onboard coding, then it is unlikely that you will want LISCAD stringing to also generate additional linework during the reduction process.
To ensure that the onboard lines are passed to LISCAD during the field reduction process and that unwanted additional lines are not generated, make the following settings before processing the survey via field transfer.

- the Code Definition dialog (Settings/Code Definition) has 'String Identifier' set to 'None', and 'Leica on-board lines' selected.

- the Reduction Options dialog (Resolve/Reduce Field File/Options) has the 'Use Code Table Stringing' option not selected.

When using the Leica DBX instruments with Leica onboard lines, users have the option of assigning codes to points, lines or both.
Dependant on the type of coding used in the field, LISCAD will interpret the data in the following ways;

  1. If both points and lines have codes, LISCAD will import the objects with their associated codes.
  2. If the point has a code and the line has no code, LISCAD will assign the code of the first point used in the line to that line.
  3. If the line has a code and the points have no code, LISCAD will assign the line code to all points associated with that line.

Note: Sample Code Lists designed for surveying with Leica DBX instruments and reduction to LISCAD are distributed with LISCAD. Refer to LISCAD DBX Code Lists
