Availability: Computations module.
Menu Selection: From the Computations task, select the Create/Point command and the Method/Equal Chord Distances command.
Functionality: Creates new points around an arc or circle separated by a nominated chord distance.

  • The OK Button creates the segment points.
  • The new point identifier may also be determined by using the Next or Last buttons.
Notes:
  • To create points around a circle, enter the same point identifier for both Radial Points.
  • The Elevation Drop Down will only be available if the elevation attribute is active.
  • If the elevation difference control is selected from the Elevation Drop Down, the elevation difference entered will be applied to each new point progressively.
  • The points created will be given the attributes of the currently defined point attribute .
  • The chord distance entered defines the chord distance between successive new points.
  • The new points will be created at equal chord distances from the first point selected. The distance from the last new point to the end of the arc/circle will be equal to or less that the specified chord distance.
  • The identifier in the new point identifier control will be used for the first new point and any subsequent new points will automatically use the next unused point identifier.
