Input the first long section. |

| Join only if on matching layers |
Select the checkbox to only consider joining objects if they are on the same layer. |
| Join disconnected objects |
Select the checkbox to create a single long section from two disconnected long section. |

Click OK to join long sections.
Note:
- Long sections are joined automatically when the second long section is picked from the model.

Join:
- Two objects - Input two objects to join. The joined line is created automatically.
- A selection of objects - Objects in the current selection will be considered for joining. Click OK to join the line.
- Long sections are discontinuous when a common distance and height for start or end points does not exist.
- When discontinuous long sections are joined by selecting the Join disconnected objects checkbox , the vertical geometry remains discontinuous. A segment is not drawn between the two long sections.

If you input the two objects to join, the newly created object retains:
- The first objects layer.
- The first objects appearance.

If you join selected objects, the newly created object inherits:
- The layer of the long section with lowest unique id.
- The appearance from the object with the lowest unique id.

The selected long sections may be discontinuous (the distance and height of the start/end points are not identical) and Join disconnected objects is not selected.
The selected long sections may be on different layers and the Join only if on matching layers checkbox is selected.
More than 2 long sections in the selection meet at the shared start or end distance and height.
