Description |
Object |
Do one of the following:
- Pick a a line, alignment or shape (pipe) to break the object and form two lines, alignments or pipes.
- Pick a polygon that has previously been joined to break the polygons.
- Tentatively pick a line, alignment or shape (pipe) to snap to the vertex where the object will be broken, then accept the selection to break the object.
|
Vertex |
When tentatively picking the Object in the model view, view the vertex where the line, alignment or shape (pipe) will be broken.
|
|
Notes |
- Picking an object from the model view to fill the Object control will automatically break the object at the vertex closest to the mouse pointer.
- The created object inherits the name, layer and attributes of the first object.
- The created alignment retains the original chainages.
- Breaking an alignment that has a horizontal design standard specified, will only maintain the standard if the alignment is broken at the intersection of two straights.

Possible errors |
Error |
Description |
The object could not be broken. The vertex is not at the join between two segments. |
The vertex closest to the mouse pointer, is at the start or end of the line, alignment or pipe, a mid point of an arc, or the centre of an arc. Confirm the object has multiple segments, then try picking the object closer to the location where you require the break. |
