Configures the precision and rounding for display and output of areas.
The Configure/Areas command is selected from the Utilities task.
You may use the Areas Configuration dialog box to make the appropriate selections. Areas will be displayed on the screen and in any output according to the selections made in the Areas Configuration dialog box.
You may change the Areas Configuration at any time. This enables you to view any data base with different Area Configurations or to switch between Area Configurations.
Use the appropriate combo boxes to select your required options for the following:
- Area Precision- Precision of Areas.
- Area Rounding 1- Rounding type 1 for Areas
- Area Rounding 2- Rounding type 2 for Areas
- Area Rounding 3- Rounding type 3 for Areas
Note that the options available in the combo boxes will depend on the Area Unit type selected via the Configure/Units command.
Refer to the Area Rounding dialog box topic and the Area Rounding topic for further assistance.
A minimum value for the major unit can be set by keying in an Area Change value.
e.g. AreaChange=2.0 will show all areas above 2.0 as hectares or acres and all areas below 2.0 as square metres or square feet.
The default value is 1.0
Selecting the System button will save the current settings as the system defaults. The system defaults are the settings initially used when a new data base is created.
Click the OK button to change the Areas Configuration to that selected for the currently open project or click the Cancel button if you do not wish to change the Areas Configuration.
