(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design Module)
Enables the parameters to be set up that control the extent of the design, how the design should integrate with existing cross section sets and what its appearance should look like.
This dialog box is accessible by pressing the Output Parameters button on the Template Implementation Set Editor.

Item | Used to |
Design Range | |
Start Distance/Start Chainage: | Enter the distance or chainage along the primary alignment, depending upon the current alignment configuration, that you want the design to start being applied from. If the alignment configuration is set for chainages there will be another Start Distance drop down list displayed. This list is to avoid confusion when there is more than one point along the alignment that shares the same chainage. This may occur if chainage equations have been used. Select the appropriate distance that you want the design to be applied from. |
End Distance /End Chainage: | Enter the distance or chainage along the primary alignment, depending upon the current alignment configuration, that you want the design to stop at. If the alignment configuration is set for chainages there will be another End Distance drop down list displayed. This list is to avoid confusion when there is more than one point along the alignment that shares the same chainage. This may occur if chainage equations have been used. Select the appropriate distance that you want the design to stop at. |
Default code: | This is the code that will be applied to all points on the template that were not assigned codes in the template editor. It is valid to leave this field blank as it is not essential that all points in the generated design cross sections are assigned codes. |
Output type: | This drop down list gives 4 options of how the template can be applied. Design Only This option will create a design cross section set from the attached templates at every section marker along the alignment that lies between the start and end chainage / distance values entered. Add Design to Existing by Range This option will create a design cross section set by copying all the cross sections out of a nominated existing cross section set that lies between the start and end chainage / distance values entered. It will then create design cross sections from the attached templates at every section marker along the alignment and merge this data with the data copied from the existing cross section set. This is useful for attaching a design template to the edge of an existing cross section. Replace Existing with Design This option will create a design cross section set by copying an existing cross section set. It will then create design cross sections from the attached templates at every section marker along the alignment that lies between the start and end chainage / distance values entered. These new design sections will then replace any sections that have the same chainage / distance that were copied from the existing cross section set. This is useful for updating parts of an existing cross section set. Add Design to Existing in Total This option is the same as "Add Design to Existing by Range" except it copies the entire existing cross section set and merges the new design cross sections into the copy between the nominated chainages / distances. |
Existing Cross Section Set: | Select the cross section set that you wish to merge or add the design information into. This drop down list will be disabled if the output type is set to "Design Only". |
Colour: | Select the colour to apply to the new cross section set. |
Line Style: | Opens the Line Style Library dialog. Select the line style that you want to apply to the new cross section set. |
Editing Behaviour | |
Retain Affected: | Sections in this Cross Section Set will move if editing of the control alignment causes the Section Marker the section is attached to move in space. |
Delete Affected: | Sections along this Cross Section Set will be deleted if the Section Marker they are associated with moves due to any editing of the plan objects that make up the primary alignment |
OK: | Accepts the current settings, closes the dialog box and returns to the main Template Implementation Set Editor dialog box. |
Cancel: | Cancels any changes, closes the dialog box and returns to the main Template Implementation Set Editor dialog box. |
Note: Whenever a template implementation set is applied it will always create a new cross section set, it will not merge the design cross sections into the original data.
