ConfigConfigure Sensor

(This functionality is available with the Survey Live module)

Used to select and configure the sensor to be used.

Please also refer to the Communications between Sensor and Survey Live topic, which provides assistance setting up communications between your relevant sensor, communications device(s) and survey live.

The Config/Sensor page is accessed from the Configure activity via the Config button in the Survey Live main dialog.

Item Used to
Type: Select the instrument type. Available options are Total Station or GNSS. If selecting Total Station, ensure it is level before selecting the "Test" button or using any Survey Live commands that require communication with the instrument.
Manufacturer: Select the instrument manufacturer.
Note: If "Demonstration" is selected, this will allow Survey Live to run in demonstration mode.
Model: Select the instrument model.
Note: This is not available if Manufacturer is set to Demonstration.
Demo File: Specify which demonstration file to be used.
Note: This option is only available if Manufacturer is set to Demonstration.
There are sample demonstration files available with the system:
   - SurveyLiveDemo.tdf for total station demonstration mode
   -  MGA55 Test.gdf for GNSS demonstration mode.
These files are stored in the default User Folder and are available from the pull down menu. You may also create and edit alternative demonstration files using your default text editor ensuring they are saved in the User Folder.
Capabilities: Set the capabilities of the demonstration total station.
Note: This option is only available in total station mode and only if Manufacturer is set to Demonstration.
The available options are;
- ATR; Automatic Target Recognition.
- EGL; Electronic Guide Light
- Motorised
- Reflectorless
Test Test whether Survey Live and the instrument are communicating correctly. If they are not communicating, check that the following settings are correct and try again. If "Type" is set to Total Station, it must also be level for a successful test.
Port: Select which port on your computer is to be used when transferring data to or from the instrument.
Baud: Set the baud rate at which the instrument operates.
Parity: Set the parity.
Data bits: Set the number of data bits.
Stop bits: Set the number of stop bits.
Flow control: Set the flow control.
