Create Cross Section dialog box
Item | Used to |
Cross Section Set name: | Enter a new cross section name into the list, or select an existing cross section
from the list. If the cross section name has already been used, you will be
given the option to overwrite or append it with the new cross section when the OK button
is selected. This can be a unique name up to 31 characters. Note: You can only overwrite or append if the existing cross section set relates to the same alignment. |
Alignment: | Select the alignment. This drop down list will display all existing primary alignments in the data base. You can either select one from the list or if this field is active, snap to one in the Plan View. This will be the control line alignment. |
Start Chainage or Start Distance: | Enter the location for the start of the cross section set. The name of this field is dependent on what has been set as the Data Input By type in the Configure/Alignment dialog. |
End Chainage or End Distance: | Enter the location for the end of the cross section set. The name of this field is dependent
on what has been set as the Data Input By type in the
Configure/Alignment dialog. When an alignment is selected these location fields will show values that represent the start and end of the complete alignment. If either field is active you can snap onto a point on the alignment to enter that location value. |
Open Cross Section in: | Select if the cross section is to be displayed when created. The user has three options, they
are.
If you enter a cross section name that already exists and then create a cross section, you will be asked to "Append", "Overwrite" or "Cancel". If you choose to append or overwrite and the relevant cross section is currently being displayed in one or more cross section windows, then all instances of it will be replaced by the new version of the cross section. |
Parameters: | Open the Cross Section Parameters Dialog Box. |
Create: | Generate the cross section and close the dialog. If the cross section set name used already exists a dialog box will appear asking whether to Append, Overwrite or Cancel. |
Close: | Close the dialog without generating a cross section. |
