Creating an Alignment

(The Computations module is required for this procedure.)

This procedure is used to create an Alignments object.

  1. Ensure that the required data base is open.
    Refer to the procedures for creating or opening a data base.
  2. Ensure that units configuration is set as desired.
    Refer to the procedure for configuring the units.
  3. Select Utilities/Configure/Alignment and ensure that you have the required constants set.
  4. Select the Computations task
  5. Use the Attributes/Point, Line and Alignment commands to set the required attributes for any objects to be created.
  6. Use the Create/Point and Create/Line commands to create the points and lines which will make up the straights and bends in the alignment.
  7. Use the Create/Arc or Create/Combined Curve commands to fit the required curves.
  8. Use Create/Alignment/Element Selection or Create/Alignment/Trace to convert the previously created contiguous objects into the required alignment.
