Creating a New Data Base

This procedure is used to create and open a new empty data base on the required projection. You may obtain additional help by clicking the underlined topics. If you do select an underlined topic, you may return to this procedure by clicking the Back key.

Step Description

1. Select the Utilities task from the task menu
2. Select the File/New command and any currently open database will be closed.
3. Use the New File dialog box to:
   Select the required folder.
   Key in the name for the new data base.
   Select the required projection.
   Use the Earth Constants button to display the Configure/Earth Constants dialog box and make the correct settings. Refer to the Configuring Earth Constants procedure for details.
   Key in any required reference details.
4. Select the OK button to create and open the new data base.
