The Resolve/Traverses command is used to display the Traverse File Editor. This editor may be used to create, edit and adjust traverse observations, and create points in the data base with adjusted co-ordinates. Refer to the following Traverse Editor menus for details about the various commands available:
Traverse files are created in this editor. They always have a TRV extension.
Traverse observations may be extracted into a traverse file from an existing field file. Alternatively traverse observations may be added manually.
Traverse observations by definition consist of the following types which may be automatically extracted from a field file:
- Observations to an instrument set up point in the traverse;
- Observations to a fixed point of known co-ordinates at the start or end of a traverse;
- Observations to a reference object of unknown co-ordinates but of known bearing at the start or end of a traverse.
