Alignment by Distance TraverseAlignment by Distance Traverse

Availability: Computations module.
Menu Selection: From the Computations task, select the Create/Alignment command and the Method/Distance Traverse command.
Functionality: Creates a new alignment and associated points by entering bearings and distances / slope distances from an existing point to the alignment vertices.
The alignment to be created will be given the currently defined alignment attributes, any associated lines created be given the currently defined line attributes and any associated points created, the currently defined point attributes.
Controls:
Actions:
  • The OK Button creates the current point and associated alignment segment.
  • The End Button ends the creation of the current alignment and allows a new alignment to be started.
  • The new point identifier may also be determined by using the Next or Last buttons.
Notes:
  • The From Point Identifier control is automatically updated to the last created point identifier after each point is created. After the first point is created, this has the effect of entering alignment segment distances. This point identifier may however be altered at any time.
  • The Elevation Drop Down will only be available if the elevation attribute is active.
  • The bearing, distance and slope controls constitute a vector group.
