Description |
| Name |
Type a name for the created long section or click to use the next available auto incremented name.
Note:
- The name for long sections must be unique.

| Use name as layer |
Do one of the following:
- Select the checkbox to place the long section on a layer with the same name as the long section.
- Clear the checkbox to place the long section on the active layer.
Note:
- Place each long section on a different layer so you can control which long sections are visible in the long section view.
- If a new layer is created it is given the same settings as the layer template. If a layer template has not been specified the active layer settings are used as the default.
- If a new layer is created, turn the layers visibility on in any existing long section views and viewports where you want the long section to display.

| Alignment |
Select an alignment from the list that the long section will be associated with.
|
| Start Chainage |
Input the chainage to start the long section.
|
| End Chainage |
Input the chainage to end the long section.
|
| Height |
Height - Input the Height to create a flat long section.
Horizontal Alignment - Create vertical intersection points at the height of each horizontal key vertex.
Start/End Heights - Create vertical intersection points at the Alignments start and end points.

| Notes |
- The long section must be within the extents of the horizontal Alignment.
- If you select the Horizontal Alignment or Start/End Heights mode, the Alignment must not contain default heights.
- If the long sections start and end points are not at the start/end of the Alignment, some long section heights may be interpolated.

| Cannot create long section at default heights. |
The horizontal alignment contains default heights and can not be used to determine the heights for the long section. |
