Find objects by their unique id, name, or by any nominated attribute value.

Control Description
(Object)List the Options Select the object type to be found.
(Method)List the Options Select the method to find the object:
  • Unique Id - All layers will be searched.
  • Name - All layers will be searched as the name attribute is common to all layers.
  • Attribute - Ensure a layer containing the attribute of interest is set as the Active Layer.
  • Source - All layers will be searched.

The following controls may appear in the Find page depending on the object type and method selected.

Control Description
Id If the object type is Vertex, enter the unique id of the vertex. Otherwise, enter the object id.
Name Enter the objects name. Wildcards may be used.
Use Wildcards Select the checkbox to include wild cards in the search.
  • * - Use an asterisks to imply many characters.
  • ? - Use a questions mark to imply a single character.
Type Select the attribute type. View the attribute definitions for the active layer to determine the attribute type.
Attribute Select the name of the Attribute. Attributes are included in the list if they are:
  • of the same attribute Type.
  • on the Active Layer.
From/To Type the range of attribute values to search for. For dates, select the date from the calender.
Value Type the attribute values to search for. For images, click Browse and select from the available images.
Source Select a source file from the list.
Notes
  • All visible layers are searched, when searching for the objects attribute value.
  • The Find window may be docked or pinned to any side of the application window.
  • If a single object is selected its attributes are displayed in the Attribute window.
  • If multiple objects are selected the attributes of the first point selected are displayed in the Attributes window.
