Subdivision Check Report

Description

Show a report to validate the polygons you have created for a subdivision.

Requirements
  • A selected polygon that represents the original lot.
  • Selected polygons that represent the newly created lots.
  • Solve module.
Controls

The report displays the following results:

Results Description
Polygon Areas Area of each polygon selected. The polygon largest in area is considered the original lot. The area difference between the original lot and the sum of the smaller lots is displayed.
Layer Areas Sum of the selected polygon areas for each layer.
Issues Problems detected with the selected polygons. See Possible errors below.
Notes
  • Areas are reported on selected polygons.
  • You can sort the columns in the report.
  • Use the Find tool to detect the points, vertices or polygons with issues.
  • The current distance type determines if a ground or grid area is computed.
  • You can add or remove the report from the list.
Possible errors

The following issues may be detected:

Issues Description
Point ‘point name or id’ overlaps polygon ‘polygon name or id’. Two polygons overlap.
Point ‘point name or id’ creates a hiatus. There is a spatial gap between polygons.
Point ‘point name or id’ is outside the bounding area. A polygons vertex or point lies outside the polygon for the original lot.
Point 'point name or id and point point name or id are connected by different segment types. There are multiple segments joining two points or vertices that do not match. For example, a line and an arc. This may cause a spatial gap between polygons.
Polygon 'polygon name' is duplicated by 'polygon name'. Two identical polygons have been created.
Polygon 'polygon name' has a blank name. A polygon does not have a name.
Polygon 'polygon name' is duplicated by 'polygon name'. Two identical polygons have been created.
Polygon 'polygon name has a name duplicate. The polygon does not have a unique name.
Polygon 'polygon id has a blank name. The polygon does not have a name.
There is a name sequence gap after polygon 'polygon name. Where polygons have numeric names, a non consecutive name has been detected.
