Notes |
- Unmerge a vertex when you want an object to be independent of another object.
-
Unmerge a vertex using one of the following methods:
- Single vertex - Click in the Vertex control, then tentatively pick the shared vertex until the object you want to disconnect is highlighted. Click OK, or accept the selection, to disconnect the object.
- Current selection - Click OK to disconnect objects for all vertices in the selection.
- Text linked to the original vertex will remain linked to that vertex.
- When a shared vertex is unmerged using the current selection, the following criteria determines which object remains connected to the original vertex:
- Object type - Point, line, text, polygon, terrain model, shape.
- Layer draw order - Objects on layers drawn last.
- Unique identifier - Objects with the lowest uid.
This criteria is important when text has been linked to the vertex as it determines which object's vertex the text will remain linked to. If a vertex does have linked text, it is recommended that you unmerge the vertex using the single vertex method.
