Controls
Controls Description
Mode Select the method for defining the origin:
Centroid - Use the centroid of the selected objects. Inserts the centroids Easting, Northing and Height.
Coordinates - Type the coordinates.
Vertex - Specify a vertex.
Vertex Specify the vertex. The origins Easting, Northing and Height values are automatically inserted. Required when the Mode is Vertex.
Easting Easting coordinate for the rotation origin.
Northing Northing coordinate for the rotation origin.
Height Height for the rotation origin.
Axis Select the axis to rotate around.
  • X - rotate around the X axis.
  • Y - rotate around the Y axis.
  • Z - rotate around the Z axis.
  • Custom - rotate around a custom axis defined using reference line.
From Direction Insert the reference direction from which the rotation angle will be computed.
Note:
To Direction Insert the reference direction to which the rotation angle will be computed.
Note:
Rotate text Select the checkbox to rotate text objects in addition to the text's insertion point. Note:
  • You can only rotate text when you are rotating around the Z axis.
Rotate plan symbols Select the checkbox to rotate plan symbols in addition to the points vertices. Note:
  • You can only rotate plan symbols when you are rotating around the Z axis.
Rotate blocks Select the checkbox to rotate blocks in addition to the blocks insertion point.
Rotate images Select the checkbox to rotate images in addition to the images insertion point. Note:
  • You can only rotate images when you are rotating around the Z axis.
Notes
  • Only selected objects will be rotated although unselected objects that share vertices with rotated objects will be affected.
  • When the origin is computed from the centroid, the origins coordinates are updated when the selection is changed.
  • The height of the origin affects rotations around the X and Y axis only.
  • To manually enter a rotation angle the From Direction should be blank or 0 and the To Direction should contain the clockwise rotation angle.
  • Transition curves and 2D circular arc cannot be rotated if a 3D user coordinate system is selected.
