Description |
Insert a splay into an existing line or polygon.
|
Access |
Home / Tools / Modify / Insert Splay
|
Requirements |
- Solve module
- An existing line or polygon
|
Controls |
The following controls are available:
Control |
Description |
Vertex |
Select the vertex at which the splay is to be inserted. |
Distance |
Enter the length of the splay. |
Segments |
Type 1 to create a single segment splay.
Type a number greater than one to create the splay along an arc using the specified number of segments, where the tangent distance is the Distance and the intersection point is the Vertex.
|
Marker Size |
Type a number between 0 and 1 to configure the length of the splay marker as a ratio of the splay distance. A value of .25 creates a splay marker one quarter of the splay distance. |
|
Notes |
- The segments into which the splay is being inserted must share the Vertex selected.
- If either segment into which the splay is being inserted is a circular arc, the Distance value is considered a chord distance.
- A splay will not be inserted if the Vertex selected is shared by more than two segments of the same object type, or if the Distance value is greater than the length of either of the segments.
- When the splay is displayed as a segmented arc, the arc is computed in two dimensions, then heights are interpolated for the created vertices.
- The splay marker is created on the active layer.
