Controls

The following controls are available:

Control	Description
Mode	Select one of the following: Attribute - Copy an objects attributes Property - Copy an objects properties.
From	Select the object to copy attributes from.
To	Select the object to paste attributes to. Note: The control is unavailable if objects are selected in the model view.
Update existing values	When copying attributes do one of the following: Select the checkbox to overwrite existing values that have been input for the To object. Clear the checkbox to only copy attribute values if there is not already an existing value for the attribute.
Copy by layer source	When copying properties from an object that has a property configured to 'By Layer', do one of the following: Select the checkbox to overwrite the To objects property with the From objects layer's default property. Clear the checkbox to the configure the To objects property to 'By Layer' or 'By Block'. The To object will display the default property configured for the To objects layer. Example: A line'1' on 'Layer 1' has the Colour configured to 'By Layer'. The default colour for lines on 'Layer 1' is 'green'. A line '2' on 'Layer 2' has the Colour configured to 'Blue'. The default colour for lines on layer 2 is orange. When the colour properties are copied from line 1 to line 2: Select the checkbox to copy the colour green to line 2. Clear the checkbox to copy the property 'By Layer' to the line 2 and display the line in orange.

List Columns

Control	Description
Groups	The attributes group. If the attributes do not belong to a group this column is hidden.
Copy	Select the checkbox to copy the attribute or property.
Name	The attribute or property name.
Value	The value assigned to the attribute or property.

Notes

The list is populated with the From objects attributes or properties when a From object is picked.
Attributes and properties can be copied to:
- A selection of objects - Click OK to paste the attributes and their values to all selected objects.
- The To object - Attributes and properties are pasted automatically when the object is picked from the model view
Select multiple rows to edit multiple checkboxes at once.
If the attribute definition does not exist on the To objects layer, a new definition is added to the layer and a new attribute is created.
If an attribute definition with the same name and type does exist on the To objects layer, valid values are copied.
If the attribute definition allows multiples, existing attributes are retained and new attributes are created providing the values are valid.
For the copy operation to be successful all copied values must be valid.
When copying block properties, the colour only applies to blocks whose objects colour were originally defined as 'By Block'. The definition of the block is not changed.

Possible Errors

Error	Description
The value Attribute value for attribute Attribute name on layer Layer name does not pass validation.”.	Edit the attribute definition for the To object, so that the copied value is valid or remove the attribute from the copy.
